Our founder was traveling and he needed information. He didn't have Internet access and none of his
buddies were answering their phones. 411 helped a little bit, but all it could do was give him a
phone
number, plus it cost him 2 bucks.
He thought out loud: Wouldn't that be great if there was one telephone number I could call for FREE when I am In A City that I don't know? The idea was born: 1-800-In-A-City: Free enhanced directory assistance.
Is this call really free?
Yes, 1-800-In-A-City is a toll-free number you can call from any cell phone, landline or payphone. When you call from your cell, standard airtime usage applies based on your plan.
Do I need to register or sign up for anything?
Nope, just dial 1-800-In-A-City (462-2489).
Will you share my phone number with telemarketers?
There was an option on the phone system called "more options". What's this?
When you're In A City, there are always those little things you seem to need. Rather than placing an
overwhelming number of options in the main menu, we put these in their own subcategory named "more options". These services include travel agents, pizza delivery, FedEx, post offices, and Amtrak. However, you don't have to say "more options" first: you can get direct access to any of those services directly from the main menu. We hope this isn't confusing. After a few calls, you should get it.
Help! What should I do if your voice recognition can't understand me?
If you're still in the main menu, you can press *1 to go to a temporary touchtone menu. However, we would also love to hear your comments, please send an email to contactus@inacity.com with your thoughts.
